Storybook Weekend at Sister Cities Park
Join us for a weekend of book-based fun in Sister Cities Park, May 6 & 7, 11am-3pm! Enjoy story readings by special guest readers and local authors every 30 minutes, along with musical entertainment, make-and-take crafts, face painting, balloon art, and more! Throughout the event, grab lunch or snacks at the Logan Square Café.

You're also encouraged to bring gently used books to add to the new Library in the Park Book Cart that will be unveiled as part of the festivities. All Aboard! Build the Rail Park Happy Hour
Construction of The Rail Park is underway! Stretching from Broad Street at Noble to Callowhill between 11th and 12th Streets, this historic quarter mile will soon become Philadelphia's newest elevated public park, celebrating the city's industrial past and cultural heritage. Head to the Trestle Inn on May 3, 5-8pm, for the Build the Rail Park Happy Hour. A short program on the illustrious history of the area begins at 6pm. Twenty percent of all sales will help raise funds to close a $415,000 funding gap for Phase 1 construction. This event is free, but kindly register at RailParkHH.com.

Get Fit in Dilworth Park!
Spring Training continues through May 25 with free sports and fitness programs in Dilworth Park at City Hall:
- Tuesdays: Yoga @ Noon and Boot Camp @ 6pm
- Wednesdays: Silver Sneakers @ 1pm and City Fit Girls Running Club @ 6:30pm
- Thursdays: Zumba @ 6pm
- May 6: World Tai Chi Day, 11am-2:45pm

Be the First to Visit Eastern State's Hospital Block!
Eastern State Penitentiary kicks off its 2017 season on May 5 with the first-ever public tours of the Hospital Block. Visitors have long wished to explore this space, but its severe deterioration has made touring the cellblock impossible – until now. Be among the first to walk the corridor of the Hospital Block, and to view three new artist installations for 2017. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and no reservations are required.

On May 11, enjoy live food demonstrations, workshops and more at the Free Library's Culinary Literacy Center! From 11am-3pm, learn about eating well on a budget, reducing food waste and other topics. Keynote Address by Saru Jayaraman, Director of the Food Labor Research Center at University of California, Berkeley. The conference is for people who are SNAP eligible, hunger fighters, food educators and advocates for food access. Box lunch included.
