Fashion District Philadelphia Development Milestones
Set to open September 2019, PREIT and Macerich’s Fashion District Philadelphia development is more than 80% committed. The new mixed-use destination reflects how customers want to shop today and will create a shopping experience that is unique to the region.
“Philadelphia and the retail environment have evolved dramatically since this project’s inception and we are unveiling a cohesive offering befitting this world-class city,” said Joseph F. Coradino, CEO of PREIT.
The project’s tenants will offer mass appeal to a diverse cross-section of shoppers by mixing off-price, fast fashion, traditional full price and branded outlet stores, along with strong entertainment and food and beverage components. Leases that have been announced to-date include: City Winery, Polo Ralph Lauren, AMC Theatres, H&M, Forever 21, Zumiez, Asics, Zales, Guess, Columbia, Levi’s, Sketchers, francesca’s, Dallas BBQ, Burger Fi, Chickie’s & Pete’s, Pei Wei, Freshii, la Madeleine, Chick-fil-A and Oath Pizza. Uniquely Philly, a collection of authentically Philadelphia offerings, creates opportunities for local businesses to capitalize on the Fashion District’s foot traffic and high profile destination.
Together with Washington, D.C.-based National Real Estate Development’s East Market project across the street, and improvements to the former Lit Bros. department store building further east, Fashion District Philadelphia will be a key component to the revitalization of Center City East.
Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant Nearing September Opening
Located in the East Market development, the 8,450 square foot location will be Iron Hill’s first urban brewpub and the chain’s first location in Philadelphia. The addition of Iron Hill to East Market will bring one of the most awarded craft brewers in the United States just steps from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market.
The East Market project encompasses the full city block from Market to Chestnut and 11th to 12th streets and will offer shopping and dining options from national and local brands including: MOM’s Organic Market, Wawa, Federal Donuts, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, District Taco, City Fitness, TJ Maxx, AT&T, and Design Center Philadelphia.
