Who will Represent Philadelphia for National History Day?
The National Constitution Center will host this year’s National History Day citywide competition for Philadelphia, March 14-15, 9am-1:15pm. Each year, thousands of middle and high school students and teachers across the United States participate in National History Day, a yearlong educational program that culminates in a national contest every June. Students compete in a local contest, the winners move on to a state competition, and those winners move on to the national competition in Washington, D.C. Along the way, every participant gains first-hand experience conducting historical research and producing a documentary, exhibit, essay, performance, or website.

The Rosenbach Flash Focus Mini-Series: Gun Policy in the United States
In the wake of the recent Parkland school shooting and the passionate response of its student survivors, the divisive issue of gun legislation is heating up once again in American politics. Would new gun laws help to curb violent gun attacks? What are the "common sense" laws some policymakers advocate? What impact would various proposals have? Should there be any new legislation or regulations? On March 15, 6-7:30pm the Rosenbach will host a panel of experts to address the gun debate. Your questions and views are welcome; come prepared to talk!
