Reading Terminal Market Turns 125!
On February 22 at 11am, the Reading Terminal Market is throwing the grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting it never had in 1893, and you're all invited! Stop by for 1893 Day when Governor Wolf, Mayor Kenney, Congressman Dwight Evans, and City Councilman Mark Squilla issue proclamations to the Market and guests will be treated to live entertainment and decor that invokes the Victorian era, such as period costumes, historic horse drawn carriage, penny-farthing bicycles, live music, and more. Throughout the afternoon, merchants will surprise hundreds of lucky customers with price throwbacks to 1893 prices on select products.

It's Paleopalooza Time!
The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is throwing its 10th annual Paleopalooza festival, March 3-4, with special guest Buddy the T. rex from PBS Kids Dinosaur Train and fossils good enough to eat. Local graffiti artist Christian Rodriguez will recreate the Hadrosaurus foulkii, New Jersey’s state dinosaur, on a giant chalk board while visitors watch. Academy scientists will show rare dinosaur and other fossils from the museum’s collection. Adults and kids alike will enjoy digging for small fossils to take home, but the real thrill may come to those with a sweet tooth. The Franklin Fountain and Shane Confectionery will sweeten the weekend with a wondrous edible wunderkammer (German for "cabinet of curiosity") and visitors can sample bites of sweets that might bite back- sandstone cookies embedded with bones hand-sculpted from sugar, real bugs embedded in amber hard candy, and a dinosaur nest made of cake with buttercream-filled chocolate eggs. Paleopalooza is free with regular museum admission
