Inside

Scratch Biscuits Opens on Chestnut Street
Mitch Prensky - the caterer and owner of Supper, the bistro on South Street - has been selling southern-style biscuit sandwiches at farmer's markets, street festivals, and pop-ups. Now, Prensky has a physical location for Scratch Biscuits, a counter service operation serving biscuit sandwiches, puddings, and homegrown Rival Bros. coffee.

"What do we do now?"

Politics. Power. Scandal. The ‘Me’ Decade. However one defines the ‘70s, no definition is complete without the films from and about this pivotal era. The National Museum of American Jewish History film series explores American social and political life in the 1970s. On July 22, it’s The Candidate. Director Michael Ritchie, best known for Smile (1975) and The Bad News Bears (1976), tells the still-relevant story of the young and handsome lawyer Bill McKay (Robert Redford), who gets convinced to run in a senatorial election. Presented with longtime film critic for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Carrie Rickey. Admission: $8/$5 for members.
