Hello, (IN) Center City subscribers! Welcome to the first edition of Center City District’s Parks & Plazas newsletter. This newsletter will provide you with all you need to know about the various public spaces that CCD maintains and manages, including Sister Cities Park at 18th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway; Three Parkway Plaza at 16th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway; and John F. Collins Park at 1707 Chestnut Street. This monthly newsletter will provide you with information on the events and programs taking place in the parks as well as what you can expect when you visit.

Tuesdays, June 5 – August 28, 11am
Nature in the Park Presented by the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University
Explore nature with staff from the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University as they lead interactive programs exploring the many aspects of nature in Sister Cities Park. This program designed for ages 8 and younger.

Bannerly Love III – A Walk in Sister Cities Park
For the third year in a row, students from the Art Institute of Philadelphia will repurpose CCD street banners into wearable art. The event features one-of-a-kind, matching dog and dog-walker couture modeled by dogs from PAWS. PAWS, the local dog animal rescue, will be on site to promote adoption opportunities. Using the park’s natural setting, an installation of banner birdhouses and sculptures will also be featured.

Story Art Presented by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Free Library of Philadelphia
Join us as we present a nature-inspired story and craft. This program is designed to connect kids to their environment using the amenities of Sister Cities Park. This program is designed for kids ages 4 to 6 (older and younger siblings are welcome).

Geocaching: An Urban Treasure Hunt Presented by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation
Join us as we go on a high-tech treasure hunt in the park using GPS and your sense of adventure. Staff will be on hand to introduce visitors to the fun of geocaching. This program is designed for tweens, teens and families.

The World We See: Nature, Poetry & Me Presented by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation
We are all connected in some way to Mother Earth and experience nature around us. In this workshop, children ages 6 to 10 will be encouraged to translate their experiences into poetry. |

Farmer's Market now open on the Plaza
Welcome King's Dutch Country Goods from Paradise, Lancaster County, to Three Parkway Plaza. The market will sell fresh produce, flower, herbs, canned jams and jellies, honey, and packaged breads on the plaza.

Farmer's Market coming to the park
King's Dutch Country Goods from Paradise, Lancaster County, will be on site at Collins Park May 25-November 23, selling baked goods, canned jams, jellies and honey on Fridays from 10:30am-2pm.
