"Hautman's blue-winged teal got the 29-cent."
For nearly 70 years, the beautiful artworks of the Federal Duck Stamp Contest have captivated collectors, artists, and families alike. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is hosting the Federal Duck Stamp Art Contest at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University on September 9 and 10. On those days, a display of the entries will be open to the public, and a panel of five judges will examine all the entries and select one artwork that will appear on the 2017-2018 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp, also known as the Duck Stamp. Family activities will take place both days. Along with the contest, the Academy is mounting Duck, Duck, Goose: The Federal Duck Stamp Story, an intimate exhibit of select stamp artwork alongside their matching taxidermy birds from the Academy’s collection through November 11.
